About
Once upon a time…
Once upon a time, there was a young performing artist named Jennifer who loved all things theatre. She trained at Central Washington University, performed across the Pacific Northwest, and spent over two decades directing and teaching theatre to young people across Washington, Idaho, and Montana.
Her dream was always clear: to create a youth theatre company where young performers could feel challenged, inspired, and celebrated.
In the fall of 2019, that dream became reality when Jennifer launched Northwest Theatre Lab—a theatre-rich, education-forward environment built just for kids and teens. The Lab was first imagined alongside her dear friend Kyton, and later supported in its early years by her friend and colleague Blair Bybee, whose experience and collaboration helped shape the foundation of the program. While both have since moved on to new chapters and creative adventures, their contributions remain part of the company’s story.
Today, Jennifer leads Northwest Theatre Lab with heart, humor, and a bold commitment to excellence. Under her direction, the Lab has grown into something extraordinary: a creative home where young performers grow their skills, their confidence, and their voice. It’s a space for serious training and joyful experimentation—a place where kids are encouraged to take risks, support each other, and shine in their own unique spotlight.
We hope you’ll become part of the story at Northwest Theatre Lab—
where theatre goes beyond experimentation.
